Walks & Activities

Below are web sites that describe many of the walks that are close to The New Cottage. In addition there are many public footpaths in and around Hallow. You can even walk to the shops from the cottage primarily on footpaths!

The Malvern Hills

The Malvern Hills, a few miles south of Hallow, dominate the local area and offer spectacular panoramic views over Worcestershire, Herefordshire and out to the Welsh mountains. On a clear day, thirteen counties can be seen from the highest summit, the Worcestershire Beacon.

The Abberley Hills

There are many lovely circular walks in the area, including some officially waymarked ones. This one through the Abberley Hills is a circuit taking in part of the Worcestershire Way, starting in the nearby village of Abberley.

The Worcestershire Way

The Worcestershire Way is a long distance walking trail which runs from Bewdley to Great Malvern, passing Hallow a few miles to the East.

Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark

One of 10 Geoparks in the UK, the Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark contains outstanding geology spanning 700 million years as well as rich heritage and wildlife.

Worcestershire offers many opportunities for other outdoor activities and exploring, from gardens and parks to boating and kayaking on the extensive canal and river network in the area. Take a look at Visit Worcestershire's Great Outdoors pages for ideas and inspiration.
